In the moments between shifts… in the exhausted eyes behind surgical masks… and in the silence that follows a code blue, a wound deeper than burnout often begins to form. It’s not just emotional fatigue—it’s something heavier. Something more personal. It’s called moral injury. You may have heard this term in the context of soldiers and veterans, but more and more, we’re hearing it come-up in hospitals, long-term care homes, and community health clinics. For nurses, physicians, therapists, and frontline healthcare workers, moral injury is becoming an all-too-common part of the job. And the truth is, it’s a wound that many carry quietly. Before I became the Founder of Satori’s The ProMind Experience, I worked on the frontline as a nurse. I worked as a forensic nurse in sexual assault and domestic violence. I sat with survivors during their most vulnerable moments. I heard their stories, advocated for their safety, and often worked in systems that could be both lifesaving and painfully inadequate. I know what it means to care deeply and still feel powerless.
I know what it’s like to do everything “right,” yet walk away feeling like you’ve failed someone.
I also know I’m not alone in this […]

In a world shaped by systems, protocols, and protectionism, staying open-hearted can feel like a radical act. For clinicians, leaders, and caregivers alike, we move through environments where gatekeeping is the norm—where vulnerability is often replaced by guardedness, and where authenticity can feel unsafe. But what if our greatest strength isn’t in shielding ourselves, but in choosing presence, openness, and gratitude anyway? At Satori Health & Wellness Coaching, and through our signature platform The ProMind Experience, we’ve seen the cost of chronic emotional contraction—burnout, cynicism, and detachment. And we’ve also seen the power of returning to the heart, especially in threshold moments when we are invited to soften, listen, and lead differently. This blog explores what it means to stay open in a world that often rewards shutting down. We’ll take a deeper look at: The Loop of Cynicism and how to break free The transformative role of gratitude How to navigate threshold moments with intention Practices that help leaders stay anchored in their values—even in difficult environments If you’ve ever felt like your heart is too soft for the world you work in, this is for you. Staying in the heart isn’t naïve. It’s leadership. The Loop of Cynicism […]

In Episode 59, The Satori Radio Podcast, we explored the drivers of work-life balance and how awareness is the first step to meaningful change. Back in Episode 41, Building the Best Hospitals to Work For, we unpacked the truth about workplace health promotion: it’s not a “nice to have”, it’s mission-critical. For healthcare organizations striving to become employers of choice, wellbeing isn’t a wellness perk—it’s a strategic imperative. These two themes—individual wellbeing and systemic transformation—are inextricably linked. Yet what’s often missing in healthcare is a coaching approach that truly bridges both. One that acknowledges the complexity of clinical work, the emotional toll of caregiving, and the lived realities of frontline staff. The solution isn’t another corporate health program, it’s an integrated, human-centered coaching experience – one designed to work with healthcare professionals, not just for them. This article unpacks why traditional coaching models, particularly those delivered through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), fall short in healthcare environments. More importantly, it presents a new model: coaching as strategic infrastructure. When designed and delivered with the right lens, coaching doesn’t just support people, it transforms organizations from the inside out. Why Traditional EAPs Miss the Mark EAPs were built with good intentions. In […]

In Episode 78, Lynn’s Inspiration to Take Hospitals to the Next Level, I shared the unexpected path that brought me here. At Satori, we don’t just understand healthcare culture—we’ve lived it, broken from it, rebuilt through it, and returned with a new lens. Unlike many who shift into coaching as a natural extension of their clinical careers, my path diverged. I left nursing long before I found coaching—not because I was burnt out, but because life took me out. After surviving a serious car crash, I spent eight years in medical rehabilitation. It was a journey that forced me to relearn not just how to move, but how to live. Coaching didn’t come after nursing—it came after rebuilding an entirely different version of myself. That’s what informs our work: not just clinical experience, but the embodied understanding of trauma, resilience, and true transformation. That journey sparked the creation of Satori Health & Wellness Coaching and, later, The ProMind Experience—a platform born to support healthcare teams in retention, recruitment, and real human engagement. At the heart of it all? A deep longing to live in alignment with my values. To listen inward, even when the world around me was loud. To […]

Healthcare systems are losing staff at an alarming rate. But why? And more importantly, what can we do to stop it? With 66% of nurses reporting burnout, this is no longer just a trend—it’s a full-blown crisis. Healthcare leaders are under constant pressure to fix the staffing crisis. But what happens when your strategy isn’t working? The problem isn’t the plan—it’s the approach. But here’s the silver lining: there is a way out. It’s time to take action now, before the situation worsens. The truth is, healthcare organizations across North America are scrambling to find solutions, but continuing down the same tired path won’t bring lasting change. So, why stick with outdated methods when innovative, effective solutions are available? As the CEO and Founder of The ProMind Experience™, I’ve worked directly with healthcare providers across disciplines, witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of burnout and disengagement—not only on the individuals but on the entire organization. Unlike traditional approaches, I’ve developed a proven system that doesn’t just offer temporary fixes—it transforms organizational culture and supports teams from the inside out. Here are the Top 11 Ways You’re Losing Healthcare Staff—and How to Fix It Now. 1. Just Keep Doing the Same Thing—It’s […]

There is a quiet revolution underway in healthcare—one that isn’t being broadcast through headlines or performance dashboards. It’s unfolding in the moments of courage between collapse and possibility. This revolution is not loud, but it is radical: it’s a complete overhaul of how we approach employee engagement. Not with perks or platitudes, but with the power to ignite voice, clarity, and emotional stamina in the very teams that hold our healthcare systems together. The ProMind Experience™ is leading that movement—not as a program, but as the innovators of culture transformation in healthcare. And like any true innovation, it began quietly. But it won’t stay that way. A Moment Between Collapse and Possibility In healthcare today, speaking the truth can cost you your job. Leaders are being sidelined for naming what’s broken, for needing flexibility to care for their families, or for advocating for systems change that disrupts the status quo. This is the moment we’re in—not just a crisis of burnout, but a culture of silencing. Those who challenge the inefficiencies, the inequities, or the inhumanity are often quietly pushed out, fired, or discredited. We are watching good people disappear from leadership not because they failed—but because they cared enough […]

Are you wondering about what a mantra style meditation group can offer you? Through reciting a mantra, effortlessly, your body regains a sense of peace and balance. If you have ever considered learning how to meditate, without an app, here are five great reasons you want to consider attending our next Monthly Meditation Group. 1. I’m In Need Of A Quality Break If it feels like you can’t quite spare the time to do a weekend meditation program because your life is full, our mid-morning Monthly Meditation Group will nourish your mind and body in as little as ninety minutes. It’s brief enough that you can extend your lunch hour, but long enough to get you a quality rest, while you take in new knowledge, and learn a gentle relaxation approach.
