Episode 72 – Staying Grounded: How Adversity Brings You Closer To Your Purpose With Nurse Writer, Cristy Book
Today, in Satori Radio, I’m speaking with Nurse Writer Christy Book, who is definitely leading the field of health and wellness as a nurse writer with nurse.org. She shares with us some of the ways that she remains grounded during these challenging times.
Hello to all my nurses and nurse leaders listening-in today. Today, in Satori Radio, I’m speaking with Nurse Writer Christy Book, who is definitely leading the field of health and wellness as a nurse writer with nurse.org. She shares with us some of the ways that she remains grounded during these challenging times. As I said in Episode 70, 5 Tips To Stay Grounded During Difficult Times, I intended to interview some nurses to hear their stories. And that’s why Christy is with us today.
In order for Christy to stay grounded as a busy health professional, she maintains balance through prayer, meditation, time with family and always holds her best friend, Maggie, close to heart. As I’ve spoken about often, meditation is the secret to improved health on many levels. She also shares with us the value of being a creative entrepreneur. I think you’ll find her to be an inspiring role model to future nurses, and those newer to the profession, as they carve their path in the nursing profession. See Podcast Episode 65 on Tips For An Amazing Nursing Career here.
Christy had to shift her nursing role, from bedside nursing to being a nurse writer/content strategist, due to facing a challenging back injury. See her recent article post about How Nurses Can Prevent Career-Ending Back Injuries here. I’ve been following Christy’s work through LinkedIn and some of her articles on nurse.org. I find she provides us with the bigger picture of what’s to come in the areas of nursing retention, health and nursing education, as well as other hot topics related to policy and saving money at tax-time as a travel nurse – all things important to our audience at Satori Health & Wellness Coaching.
What’s most amazing about Christy’s story is she’s truly grounded herself in her purpose as a nurse writer. She literally re-wrote her story, and supports us all to question the definition of a nurse.
