Episode 20 – 3 Ways To Have More Time For Yourself (regardless of how busy you are)

There’s nothing more complex in the world than the feelings attached to our time, and how we manage it, and feel about it. In fact, time management is a billion dollar industry, with coaches and consultants springing-up every day with new strategies to manage time.

020 – 3 Ways To Feel You Have More Time For Yourself (regardless of how busy you are)

How often have you felt like “I just need time to myself!” or ”I just don’t have time to do the things I want to do”? and ”I feel like I’m putting others ahead of me”. I’m here to give you permission to help you shift that feeling of not having enough time for yourself, to creating “moments” for yourself instead.

How often have you felt like “I just need time to myself!” or…

“I just don’t have time to do the things I want to do”? and…

“I feel like I’m putting others ahead of me”

I’m here to give you permission to stop that, and help you shift that feeling of not having enough time for yourself so you can start to create “moments” for yourself instead. How you use your time is more important than the amount of time you have for a task.

Truthfully, these are all pretty common statements we hear from people. We live in a society that makes it difficult to use our time for ourselves. People’s workplaces often require they attend to emails on-the-fly after hours, and if not, some are hit hard by the guilt if they don’t make work a priority after hours.

In this episode, we covered:

The 3 ways to make more time for yourself regardless of how busy you are:

1) Daydream: daydreaming holds value in our lives, and buys us a bit of time too. Whatever goes on in your mind, is on your time. This means, you could be spending time improving all aspects of your life, thereby reducing the likelihood of experiencing stress and burnout.

2)  Connecting with loved ones is a human need that can add value (and time) to your life. Giving love makes us feel a sense of love too. Adventure adds excitement to our day, and it’s healthy to help us shift to enjoying daily moments. Have a listen to Episode 6 – Why Discovering What You Need Will Make You Happier to touch base with the 6 Core universal needs might help you add more time, love & adventure to your life. Thoughts and perceptions of how you use your time can help you shift the feeling of having more time.

3) Avoid negativity. Try to avoid giving your time away to negative people and situations. When you get stuck in a storm of other people’s emotions, it gives us a sense that we’re giving away our time. If you do end up in that situation, consider yourself of great value that you had to be present in that situation to support someone. This may shift the perception of how much time you have.
